Senior Level Cyber Security Professional

Position Description:

ProObject is looking for a Senior Level Cyber Security Professional to act as a lead engineer providing information system security support to our team. Requires ability to implement and configure systems to comply with corporate Information System Security Plans and ensure compliance with NIST requirements to protect Controlled Unclassified Information. Familiar with the Risk Management Framework (RMF).  Interprets security process and standards in working through authorization and security processes. Ability to document implementation of NIST security controls as well as security policies and plans. Work closely with Information System Security Managers, Information System Security Officers and other personnel. Verify that required security artifacts are delivered as to not cause delays in the deployment schedule. Opportunity to expand the line of business with commercial clients.

Labor Requirements:

  • Participate as the primary security engineering representative on engineering teams for the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and/or integration of secure networking, computing, and enclave environments
  • Participate as the primary security engineering representative on engineering teams for the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and/or integration of IT Security architectures, policies, systems, and system components
  • Apply knowledge of IT Security policy, procedures, and workforce structure to design, develop, and implement secure networking
  • Support security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management
  • Interact with the customer and other project team members
  • Recommend system-level solutions and commercial tools to resolve security requirements; and advocate and recommend system-level solutions to resolve security requirements. Monitors and suggests improvement to IT Security policy
  • Interact with customers, IT staff, and corporate management to define, achieve and document required IT Security objectives

Technical Skills Required:

  • Proven ability to perform hands-on security test & evaluation of systems against current NIST standards
  • Possess working knowledge of cyber security tools such as Nessus, NMAP, auditing tools, etc.  To include installation procedures, execution of tools, and analysis of tool output
  • Familiarity with supporting the sustainment activities for System Security Plans (SSPs)
  • Familiarity with NIST 800-171 and NIST 800-53.
  • BS. degree in Computer Engineering/Science, Information Systems, Cyber Security, or other technically relevant field of study
  • BS. degree in Cyber Security (desired but not required)

Certifications Desired but Not Required:

  • Security+ Certification
  • Net+ Certification
  • 8570 IAT Level III certifications:
    • CASP, CISSP, CISA, GCED, GCIH or GSEC
  • CCNA Certification

Minimum Experience Required:

  • Minimum 10 years in a technical role, providing technical expertise for software intensive projects and programs for Government or Industry customers
  • Minimum 10 years as a IT Security Engineer supporting software architecture development
  • Possess at least 5 years of experience performing day-to-day IT Security engineering responsibilities for system/product teams, and working with system administrators to implement security controls and remediated vulnerabilities
