Junior Systems Engineer Trainer

Position Description:

  • Analyze and research a client’s learning situation, expectations, resources, leaning needs, learning gaps, and tasks as well as the available software, technology, and infrastructure available to meet client needs.
  • Design curricula according to instructional principles, client-objective, and problem objectives.
  • Develop practices for instructor-led training, Web-based training, virtual classroom, job aids, quick reference materials, and exercise.
  • Implement practices surrounding the production of educational materials, the structuring of content rollout to facilitators and students, and general project management criteria associated with a training program.
  • Evaluate techniques applicable to the client requirements.
  • Work with the Operations helpdesk resolving to support end-users.

 

Labor Requirements:

  • Contributes to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents;
  • Manages system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture(s) Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Service-oriented Architecture (SOA), etc.;
  • Assists with the development of system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components;
  • Coordinates the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews that require cross-discipline coordination

 

Technical Skills Required:

  • Five years’ experience with an intelligence agency or SIGINT related experience
  • Two years’ experience in a classroom setting working as an instructor in a professional work environment
  • Experience in planning and managing training development for large programs
  • Experience supporting complex operational software system including trouble shooting and problems solving
  • Ability to work in high pressure, highly flexible environment against both short and long term requirements
  • Experience developing online web-based training, distance learning presentations, training plans, courses, and/or materials of a technical nature
  • Candidate must be highly organized, thorough, self-motivated, proactive and outgoing. Extensive collaboration with project personnel and partner/customer groups is required – Strong communications skills is a must

 

Special Technical Skills Desired:

  • Extensive experience in Instructional Design
  • Experience developing formal classroom courses, workshops, seminars, and materials of a technical nature
  • Experience with developing, implementing, or training on diversity
  • Experience working with Windows and Unix environment
  • Monitor resolved helpdesk tickets and call-in records to ensure all pertinent information is provided
  • Working assignment off helpdesk JIRA ticketing system
  • Assist in gathering other statistics and producing reports as needed/requested
  • Add frequently asked questions to the current lists for end users
  • Work with customer support engineers to design and develop utilities to assist and improve the support process
  • Resolve troubleshooting issues presented by end users/analysts
  • Familiar with 508 Compliance

 

Minimum Experience Required:

  • Five years’ experience with an intelligence agency or SIGINT related experience
  • Two years’ experience in a classroom setting working as an instructor in a professional work environment
  • No demonstrated experience is required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of system engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
  • TS/SCI with Polygraph Required
